Domestic Fleet
Domestically, Delta has equipped over 880 aircraft with free Wi-Fi, including models such as the Boeing 737, Boeing 757, Airbus A321ceo, A321neo, A320, A319, and A220-300. This extensive coverage ensures that passengers on most U.S. flights have access to reliable internet service.
Regional Jets
Delta is also upgrading its regional fleet, which includes over 400 regional jets and Boeing 717s, with streaming-capable Hughes connectivity. The first CRJ-700 has already been retrofitted, with plans to extend this enhancement across the regional fleet. Retrofits for the Boeing 717 fleet are scheduled to begin in the fourth quarter of 2025, with completion expected by early 2026.
International Expansion
Looking ahead, Delta intends to introduce free Wi-Fi on flights to South America later this spring. However, routes to Asia, Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa are projected to receive this service by 2026. The phased rollout reflects Delta's commitment to ensuring a consistent and high-quality connectivity experience for all passengers.
Future Aircraft Integration
Delta is set to enhance its fleet with advanced connectivity solutions. Starting in late 2026, select new deliveries of Airbus A350-1000 and A321neo aircraft will be outfitted with a dual-network connectivity solution. This upgrade aims to further improve the in-flight internet experience for passengers.
Accessing Delta's Free Wi-Fi
To utilize the complimentary Wi-Fi, passengers can connect to the "DeltaWiFi.com" network once the boarding doors close. Logging in with a SkyMiles account grants immediate access; non-members can enroll for free during the flight or opt to purchase a Wi-Fi flight pass.
Delta's ongoing investments in in-flight connectivity underscore its dedication to enhancing the passenger experience, ensuring travelers remain connected across both domestic and international flights.
