Monarch Airlines' Return | New Website Sparks Speculation

Monarch Airlines' Return | New Website Sparks Speculation

Excitement is brewing in the aviation community as signs emerge that former British airline giant Monarch Airlines may be making a comeback. A new website, letsmonarch.co.uk, has been launched with the message "We're working hard building a brand new Monarch, just for you" emblazoned on the homepage, sparking speculation of a possible relaunch of the popular airline.

The website encourages followers to stay up-to-date on developments by following @letsmonarch on Instagram and Twitter. Interestingly, the website's footer lists "Monarch Airlines Limited and Monarch Holidays Limited incorporated and registered in England and Wales with company numbers 14600586 and 14600581." This information has been confirmed through the UK's Companies House, revealing that the company is active and based in Luton, England. Daniel Ellingham is listed as the director of the newly-registered company.

It is important to note that while these developments are encouraging, it's still very early days, and a lot of steps remain before the airline could potentially return to the skies, however, the possibility of a relaunch of Monarch Airlines has generated significant hype among aviation enthusiasts and industry insiders alike.

Interestingly, the new website and social media accounts use the name "Lets Monarch" rather than the previously used "Fly Monarch." It is believed that this may be due to the "Fly Monarch" name still being owned by travel company Love Holidays.

Founded in 1967, Monarch Airlines was one of the UK's leading charter and scheduled airlines, offering flights to destinations across Europe, North America, and beyond. Unfortunately, in October 2017, Monarch Airlines went into administration, resulting in the immediate cessation of all flights and the repatriation of tens of thousands of stranded passengers. The collapse was attributed to various factors, including increased competition, fluctuating currency rates, and the impact of terrorist attacks on popular tourist destinations.

Airliners Live will continue to monitor the developments surrounding the potential relaunch of Monarch Airlines. We are hoping to acquire an interview with the team behind the new Monarch in the coming days. For the latest updates and developments, stay followed on Airliners Live Twitter.
